Broken Hearts
As we awoke and heard the news
Our hearts were broke our minds confused
Again we're forced to see and hear
The devastation so severe.

As names are read silence does fall
The tears we cry connect us all
As one we feel so much sorrow
With darkened souls we face tomorrow.

As we kneel down and bow our head
We pray to God to bless the dead
To help the families left here
Confused and broken lost in fear.

We light a candle in memory of
The people we lost and continue to love
As at this time we must embrace
The lives of those we can't replace.
